Introduction National Ornamental Fish Development Foundation (N.O.F.D.F), which is one of the non-governmental organizations in Sri Lanka providing service to the people in various activities such as education, self-employment job making, protecting the environment and natural resources etc. Mission Making self employment opportunities to develop nation by the voluntary contribution to reduce the poverty. Objectives 1. Aiming to strengthen the economy of Sri Lanka by expanding and developing the field of ornamental fish. 2. Give a helping hand to reduce the unemployment. 3. Manipulating the members to protect the nature and natural resources and contribute to protect the ornamental fish, which are being unproductive. Main Activities 1. Maintaining a library, this is having books, articles, information on the field of fish including internet facilities. This is mainly aiming to give the new technology, knowledge and comprehension. 2. Maintaining a laboratory to carry out research on fish, ails of fish and treatment for fish. 3. Organizing trip to develop the knowledge about this field. 4. Carrying out task to get higher production of fish, high quality mother fish and child fish. 5. Maintaining a fish conservatory to see the fish being unproductive for the future generation. 6. Maintaining a co-ordinate exchange center of fish producers and vendees. 7. Maintaining a welfare unit for the welfare of members. 8. Working together with international organizations, which are
having same objectives.
